Mena Alexandra suvari, born February 13, 1979 in America, is an actor also a fashion designer, and model. She started her modeling career in 1990 and soon moved into acting following guest appearances on television series like Boy Meets World or High Incident. Following her appearance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she won the BAFTA Award) and American Pie which brought her much attention, she completed her move into more prominent roles. The actress has appeared in American Pie's Co-Star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the role of lead for the film Sugar & Spice (2001). In 2002, she was a part in Spun the drama that was made by an independent studio and 2004's thriller Trauma. In 2004, she starred on HBO's drama Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in for 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, she was part of several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. She has been a supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation, a prestigious organisation that helps provide relief to Africa. The organization is also active in issues of female empowerment and is associated with groups that help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
